NHL Injuries: Avs, Stars, Oilers, Canadiens, Senators, Flyers, Kraken, Lightning, Canucks and More
Elliotte Friedman: “I feel what’s happening here, Scott, is that they’ve gotten some concerning reports, and so they wish to send some people there to see of course. And there’s going to be someone from the Players Association going to it, as was mentioned to me last night (Tuesday), so I just heard that.
They get updates on a regular basis, and that is something that they’re not accountable for. And I, I just think they wish to see before they really comment on it. But yes, I got the sense yesterday (Tuesday) was a little bit of what exactly is occurring here. Although, as I wrote, they’re type of after I asked a number of different people, are really anxious, and the driest answer I got was, ‘We’ll see once they get there.’
So I feel we’ll have a greater idea in about every week where we’re. The games in Sweden are 14th and sixteenth. So I suppose they’re going to go over right after. I reminded (Gary) Bettman about this once, that they were still type of constructing Sochi after we showed up there in 2014, so it’s commonplace.
But he made the purpose of claiming that while that’s true, the rink was done well prematurely. They held the World Under-18s 10 months before those Olympics in 2014 and so they haven’t been capable of hold an event yet. After which they were purported to hold in December has been pushed back into January.
