Islam Makhachev brutally honest on idea of Conor McGregor returning at UFC White House

Islam Makhachev has his doubts about Conor McGregor.

The Irish superstar has been teasing his return to the Octagon ever since he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021.

McGregor was speculated to fight former Bellator champion Michael Chandler at UFC 303 last yr, but he withdrew from the bout as a result of a broken toe.

It’s no secret that the 37-year-old desires to return on the UFC’s massive event on the White House next summer, but not everyone believes in his plan – definitely not former lightweight champ Islam Makhachev, a teammate of McGregor’s undefeated rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Islam Makhachev pours cold water on Conor McGregor fighting again

Makhachev believes McGregor’s fighting days are over.

McGregor is 1-2 since his 2018 title fight loss to Nurmagomedov. McGregor is certainly one of two fighters to make it to the championship rounds with the undefeated lightweight. He was submitted by Nurmagomedov in round 4.

This was the climax of a heated rivalry.

“Khabib broke his mind,” Makhachev said of McGregor on Complex.

“This guy never come back.

“He’s not gonna fight anymore. I [said] this like two years ago.

“I still pondering he’s not gonna fight. Now, he have like disqualification from the anti-doping commission.

“I feel no.

“Perhaps Jon Jones will come back to fight in White House, but not Conor,” Makhachev said.

“Yeah,” Makhachev said, when asked if he had any interest in fighting on the White House.

“It’s good time between my fights, now and to White House,” said Makhachev.

Makhachev attempts to make history this Saturday at UFC 322.

The previous lightweight champion meets welterweight champ Jack Della Maddalena within the essential event. Makhachev headlines Madison Square Garden in Recent York City.
