Matheus Cunha saw the funny side after an Arsenal supporter asked him when he can be leaving Manchester United for the Gunners.

United signed Cunha in a £62.5 million deal from Wolves in the summertime transfer window and the 26-year-old has quickly established himself as a key figure in Ruben Amorim’s new-look attack.

Arsenal had also made a move for Cunha in the summertime but Mikel Arteta opted to strengthen his attacking options with the signings of Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze.

Cunha is currently in London with Brazil’s national side are they prepare to play Senegal in a friendly on the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

And while staying at a hotel along with his Brazil teammates, Cunha was approached by an Arsenal supporter.

When asked by the fan when he can be joining Arsenal, Cunha laughed and replied: ‘No thanks.’

The Arsenal fan posted the moment on TikTok with the caption: ‘Bro’s laughing like he even gets into the starting 11.’

Speaking this week, Rio Ferdinand believes the arrogance that Cunha and fellow summer signing Bryan Mbeumo have dropped at United has been key to their recent run of form.

‘I believe an enormous thing has been the acquisition of Cunha and Mbeumo because they’re really superb, to start with, football guys when it comes to loving football,’ Ferdinand said.

‘They’re tactically very astute, and so they have an actual good confidence that they dropped at the squad that is admittedly, I believe, feeding through the team.’
