Jey Uso can have advanced within the tournament to make your mind up John Cena’s final opponent, but there’s been a backlash to his SmackDown victory.
Through the November 14 episode of SmackDown, Jey defeated The Miz to earn a spot in the following round of the continuing tournament.
In metrics from YouTube, WWE’s video highlighting Jey’s win has been met with over 34,000 dislikes, the overwhelming majority of reactions to the video.
Fans within the comments argued that Jey was the incorrect winner, with one fan saying, “If Jey is Cena’s last match, we riot” while one other said the choice was “terrible booking.”
Earlier this 12 months, Jey’s World Heavyweight Championship win at WrestleMania 41 also earned much more dislikes than likes on YouTube.
Jey Uso and Cena have relatively little history as opponents, while The Miz and Cena headlined WrestleMania 27 and faced off again at WrestleMania 33.
