Real Madrid ‘is likely to be interested’ in signing key players from Chelsea and Liverpool, it has been claimed.

Los Blancos have enjoyed a promising begin to the season under latest manager Xabi Alonso, winning ten of their first 12 league games to climb to the highest of the La Liga table.

Real Madrid also won their first three games of this season’s Champions League before losing 1-0 to Liverpool prior to the November international break.

Madrid are a powerhouse within the transfer market and can look to bolster Alonso’s squad in January and through next summer’s transfer window.

Ex-Chelsea winger Pat Nevin and ex-Liverpool midfielder Igor Biscan consider Real Madrid could turn to their former clubs to strengthen.

‘Real Madrid is likely to be eager about Dominik Szoboszlai because his qualities are so good he can play in any team on the planet,’ Liverpool Champions League winner Biscan told BoyleSports.

‘He’s such a very good player and is in a position to play in so many positions that any team on the planet would probably wish to have a player like him.

‘He can defend, he can really be the one to place pressure, to be aggressive, he can deliver from set pieces, he can attack the box.

‘He can do whatever he desires to do on the football pitch and be a threat, and run the entire day, and he’s also excellent looking!’

Szoboszlai has remodeled 100 appearances for Liverpool since his £60m move from RB Leipzig in 2023.

The 25-year-old Hungary international was a key member of the Slot squad that won the Premier League last season.

One other player who ‘would interest’ Real Madrid is Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo, in response to Nevin.

Caicedo has developed into among the best midfielders on the planet over the past 12 months and is arguably Chelsea’s most significant player.

While Nevin believes Real Madrid would like to welcome Caicedo to the Bernabeu, he doubts the numbers involved would ‘work’ given Chelsea paid £115m to sign him from Brighton two years ago.

‘Caicedo is able to playing in any team because he’s greater than a destructive player, he’s an absolute genius defensively,’ Nevin told CasinoHawks.

‘Yes, he would interest Real Madrid, but I can’t see the numbers working. I’m struggling to see the numbers working.

‘Because if he’s bought for 100 million, or 115 million depending on what you hear concerning the add-ons, etc., how much is he going to must spend to get him to offer Chelsea a viable profit that they don’t feel as in the event that they’ve lost one in all their best, if not their best, player?

‘You’re talking 200 odd million. Unless you’re a forward scoring 30, 40 goals a season, that market, I’m unsure about.

‘Though Enzo Fernandez and Caicedo were each bought for over 100 million and I actually have to say, it shocked quite a lot of us, that amount of cash spent in that position. But to go further than that, I don’t know.’

Real Madrid’s first game back following the November international break is a league game against Elche, currently sitting within the bottom-half of La Liga.
