The Anaheim Geese won’t be pushed into anything with Pavel Mintyukov

Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman on 32 Thoughts: The Podcast – The Struggling Edmonton Oilers episode, on Pavel Mintyukov‘s unhappiness in Anaheim.

Friedman: “Mintyukov, same deal. Now I’ll say this. I had a pair folks that didn’t prefer it got here out while Anaheim’s doing rather well. Form of same take care of Lambert, but because I used to be the guy who reported Mintyukov, I had some pushback to that with me. Like, Anaheim goes rather well, this isn’t the time for this. And I used to be like, okay, fair. I completely understand it, but it surely is on the market.

NHL Rumors: Brad Lambert Get Permission From the Winnipeg Jets to Discover a Trade Partner

And, , so I just desired to mention that. You recognize, Mintyukov was the tenth overall pick in 2022. He’s a very talented young kid. He made this team in a short time. But you have a look at it at once, he’s gotten beaten out.

Like Jackson LaCombe is now a $9 million defenseman. He’s not playing ahead of him. (Olen) Zellweger has done, Zellweger has been an amazing partner for (Jacob) Trouba. Trouba has been one among the tremendous early-season stories, and Zellweger is playing a really big role there. And Ian Moore, who’s the form of the guy who’s beaten out Mintyukov at once, he’s played rather well for them. And he scored the winning goal the opposite night within the second game that Mintyukov sat out.

So that they’ve got a winning hand at once, but I feel that’s that’s the realism of what we’re coping with now within the NHL, the children, they need to play faster. They don’t have much patience, as perhaps they used to, or were forced to, to have for the American Hockey League.

….

Identical to I can see it with (Pavel) Mintyukov. Mintyukov is a young defenseman who could move the puck. There’s going to be interest in him.

In Anaheim, I don’t know the way, what to make of this, because Verbeek, the more he gets pushed, the more gets his back up. So, primary, I feel he’s going to form of say, ‘Hey, we’ll do, I’ll do that on my time.’

And , I’ll say this too. They’ve had a number of young players who’re really popping at once, to their credit. They’ve done a very nice job, but at different times, a few of these players have had issues with their ice time. And he’s at all times said, I’m not providing you with the simple way out. Such as you’re gonna earn your ice time. That’s form of his philosophy: no easy way out, earn it.

NHL Rumors: Montreal Canadiens, Alexandre Texier, and the Milan Arena

Now, perhaps that is different. I don’t know. We’ll see in the long run, but I do know that he’ll he won’t be pushed into doing anything. That’s obviously.
