Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya honored the Indian women’s blind cricket team for his or her undefeated win over Nepal within the Blind Twenty20 World Cup final in Colombo.

Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya honored the Indian women’s cricket team at his residence on Tuesday for his or her recent victory within the inaugural Blind Twenty20 World Cup.

The Indian women’s team defeated Nepal by seven wickets in the ultimate in Colombo on Sunday, remaining undefeated throughout the six-team tournament.

“The Indian women’s blind cricket team has made the nation proud,” Mandaviya said, celebrating the team’s victory.

“Their win serves as an enormous inspiration for each specially-abled sportspersons and anyone aspiring to bring glory to the country.”

The blind cricket team’s triumph followed closely after the Indian women’s team’s first-ever World Cup victory.

Captain of the Indian team, Deepika TC, said: “Dr Mandaviya’s words will motivate not only us but in addition encourage more women from the blind community to pursue sports as a profession and make the country proud.”
