India drop below Pakistan within the WTC 2025-27 points table after suffering a humiliating defeat within the second Test against South Africa.

India suffered a humiliating defeat by 408 runs within the second Test against South Africa. On Day 5 of the red-ball match at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, in reply to the 549-run goal, India could only manage to attain 140 runs in 63.5 overs. Spinner Simon Harmer picked up six wickets for the visitors within the second innings and Keshav Maharaj accounted for the dismissal of two batters for 37 runs.

After losing back-to-back Test matches against the Proteas, India dropped from 4th to fifth position within the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table. They now have 48.15 PCT%.

South Africa, then again, have consolidated their No. 2 position within the WTC 2025-27 points table. They now have 75.00 PCT%.

Australia proceed to guide the WTC 2025-27 points table. The Baggy Greens have 100 PCT%. The 2023 WTC winners have won all 4 matches played thus far in the continuing WTC cycle.
