The Delhi Capitals have mastered every part within the WPL… except actually winning the thing.
Despite rolling out a number of the strongest squads season after season — and reaching every final to date — the trophy cabinet in Delhi stays painfully empty.
And this yr, their auction behaviour has already raised eyebrows.
Delhi Capitals blew every last penny that they had and secured 11 players within the WPL 2026 Auction, rounding off their squad to that of a 16-woman Tour de Force.
South Africa skipper Laura Wolvaardt got their auction going, as DC secured the services of the veteran batter for INR 1.1 Crore.
But, their major buys got here next: with the Delhi side acquiring each Chinelle Henry and Sree Charani for INR 1.3 Crore each.
Then, they launched into a peaceful and composed approach to the auction, slowly yet steadily filling out the rest of their roster with talents all across the board.
So what now? Delhi will likely be hoping that the players they bought also buy into their core philosophy: celebrating wins together, backing one another in rough patches, and keeping the vibe tight regardless of the scoreboard.

DC’s History In The WPL
It’s been quite the rollercoaster for DC across three WPL seasons: consistently stacked, endlessly competitive, at all times in the combo, but someway at all times falling at the ultimate hurdle.
