Bastian Schweinsteiger has encouraged Bayern Munich to strongly consider re-signing VfB Stuttgart defensive midfielder Angelo Stiller.

Stiller got here through the academy ranks at Bayern Munich and made 50 appearances in all competitions across two seasons with the club’s reserve team.

Midway through the 2020/21 campaign, Stiller broke into Bayern’s senior squad for the primary time, coming off the bench on two occasions within the Champions League against Atletico Madrid and Lokomotiv Moscow.

He also featured for his boyhood club within the German Cup versus FC Duren, but never got the chance to play within the Bundesliga.

Together with his path to regular first-team minutes blocked, Stiller made the difficult decision to depart Bayern for Hoffenheim in 2021, which is where he first began to actually make a reputation for himself in German football.

The midfielder’s eye-catching performances with Hoffenheim soon caught the eye of Stuttgart, where he has since established himself as one in all most sought-after talents in Bundesliga football.

Now a full international with Germany, Stiller is a wanted man across Europe, with Manchester United and Real Madrid credited with an interest in recent weeks.

It’s understood Stiller has been added to Manchester United’s seven-man shortlist of potential targets in central midfield, together with the likes of Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba.

Reports emanating out of Germany suggested Bayern were also exploring the potential of bringing the 24-year-old back to the Allianz Arena – an idea which clearly has the backing of Schweinsteiger.

‘Angelo is a really interesting player,’ the previous Bayern, Germany and Manchester United midfielder said during a recent event with the Kings League.

‘I might very very similar to to see him back at Bayern Munich.’

In response to Sky Deutschland, Stuttgart value Stiller within the region of €50million (£44m) – a sum that may see the midfielder grow to be the second-most expensive departure within the club’s history.

Stiller, who has been capped five times by the Germany national team, is tied right into a contract with Stuttgart until June 2028.

‘I’m definitely drawn to playing abroad in some unspecified time in the future,’ Stiller admitted in a recent interview with German newspaper Bild.

‘I assumed Florian Wirtz’s decision to go to Liverpool was cool.

‘At the tip of my profession, I absolutely wish to play within the USA, within the MLS. This plan, this goal, is 100 per cent certain.’
