Hugo Ekitike stays a doubt for Liverpool’s Premier League game against West Ham on Sunday resulting from a back injury.
The 23-year-old, who has scored five goals for Liverpool this season, was forced off within the second half of the 4-1 defeat at home to PSV within the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Liverpool, who’ve now lost nine out of their last 12 games across all competitions, travel to West Ham within the Premier League this weekend.
Speaking ahead of the match, Liverpool manager Arne Slot played down the severity of Ekitike’s injury but conceded that the striker has little time to recuperate from the defeat to PSV at Anfield.
When asked about Ekitike’s injury, Slot said: ‘They don’t expect that it needs to be a giant issue however the games come fast so let’s see for the weekend.

‘But it surely shouldn’t need to be a giant issue.’

Meanwhile, Alisson is about to return in goal after missing the loss to PSV resulting from illness.
Florian Wirtz can also be closing in on a return having missed Liverpool’s last two games resulting from a muscular issue.
‘Ali trained again with the team today, so we hope and expect him to be available on the weekend,’ Slot said.
‘Florian may have his final day of rehab tomorrow. So, if that each one goes well, he could train with the team on Saturday.’
