India’s squad announced for U19 Asia Cup
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to X on Friday (November 28) to announce India’s squad for the upcoming 2025 edition of the U-19 Asia Cup. Within the 15-member team picked for the tournament starting December 12 in Dubai, 18-year-old Mumbai batter Ayush Mhatre has been named as India’s U19 captain, and Vihaan Malhotra will probably be his deputy.
14-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who’s playing for Bihar in the continued Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025 today, can be a part of the squad.
Kishan Kumar Singh can be included within the squad, but his participation within the eight-team tournament is subject to fitness clearance.
The BCCI selectors have also named 4 standby players – Rahul Kumar, Hemchudeshan J, BK Kishore, and Aditya Rawat – for the eight-team tournament in December.

Within the U19 Asia Cup 2025, India is clubbed with Pakistan in Group A, and the opposite two teams will probably be decided post the conclusion of qualifiers.
A complete of 14 teams – Bahrain, Hong Kong, Iran, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand and UAE – are playing within the qualifiers, and the 2 finalists and one third-place team will qualify for the principal tournament.
