Only man to beat Roy Jones Jr. twice named alongside Gennadiy Golovkin in 2026 Hall of Fame class

Three decorated fighters headline the International Boxing Hall of Fame’s class of 2026.

Several months ago, Ryan Garcia was criticized for saying that Gennadiy Golovkin isn’t a Hall of Fame worthy fighter.

It was announced ahead of time that ‘GGG’ would headline the IBHOF ballot after vacating various titles following his second loss to Canelo Alvarez in 2022.

Golovkin has now turned his attention to a unique pursuit, as he goals to develop into the president of World Boxing following a remarkable profession.

On Thursday, several other iconic fighters were announced alongside him because the Hall of Fame inductees for 2026.

Nigel Benn and Antonio Tarver join Gennadiy Golovkin within the 2026 Hall of Fame

While Gennadiy Golovkin suffered two losses to Canelo Alvarez, with their first fight going to a controversial draw, his run at middleweight still makes him an undeniable Hall of Famer.

One other former middleweight champion was also named as an inductee alongside ‘GGG’ on December 5.

Just weeks on from Conor Benn’s shutout win against Chris Eubank Jr., his father, Nigel Benn, was officially announced to be entering the Hall of Fame in 2026.

Benn, who retired in 1996 despite attempting to make a comeback 23 years later, held the WBO middleweight and the WBC super middleweight titles during his 48-fight profession.

‘The Dark Destroyer’ famously lost a world title and defended one in his two bouts with Chris Eubank where he was stopped of their first meeting and drew together with his best rival of their 1993 rematch.

Antonio Tarver was also named as an inductee following his profession at light heavyweight.

Tarver was famously the primary man to stop Roy Jones Jr. in 2004 before becoming the one fighter to ever beat ‘Superman’ twice of their trilogy bout that took place the next 12 months.
