Former Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. is taking precautions after wife Lauren Luyendyk gave birth to the couple’s fourth baby.
“Making THAT call for the third time … Need a punch card,” Arie, 44, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, December 7, alongside a video of him calling the doctor’s office to schedule an appointment.
“Hello, it’s me,” he told a receptionist over the phone. “So now, I’d prefer to get one other vasectomy. Snip snap, snip snap.”
Arie laughed as he noted there was a “long awkward pause” on the opposite line. At the top of the video, Arie said, “Sounds good,” and flashed a thumbs up for the camera. He paired the video with Adele’s “Hello.”
“She’s probably heard it a thousand times lol,” he captioned the post.
Arie’s post comes lower than three months after he and Lauren, 34, welcomed their fourth baby, daughter Livvy. The pair announced the birth via Instagram in September, writing, “Welcome to the world livvy rowe luyendyk.🪽9/18/25. Love you our sweet little angel girl!”
Arie and Lauren initially crossed paths during The Bachelor season 22, where he ultimately got engaged to Becca Kufrin. Arie, nonetheless, went on to interrupt off their engagement in pursuit of Lauren, whom he proposed to in 2018. The couple tied the knot in Hawaii in January 2019. Arie and Lauren welcomed daughter Alessi and twins Lux and Senna in May 2019 and June 2021, respectively.
In February, Arie shared that he underwent a vasectomy reversal within the hopes that he and Lauren could expand their family.
“We said we were done having kids, like, a pair years ago, but I feel we’re gonna do it yet another time,” Lauren said in a YouTube video on the time. “That sounded funny, like, we’re only going to do it one time.”
Arie explained that he “rushed” having a vasectomy in 2022 after the pair’s twins were born, explaining that having Senna and Lux was “hard at first.” Lauren, meanwhile, noted that he scheduled the vasectomy “without consulting” her.
“He was like, ‘OK, it’s happening. We gotta do that,’” she recalled. “And we did. I got on board.”
After undergoing the reversal, Arie shared that he was “totally” able to add to their family. “If we had a singleton, we could totally handle that,” he added.
Lauren, meanwhile, was barely on the fence about trying for baby No. 4.
“He totally convinced me that, like, chapter’s closed and I got here to terms with that,” she said. “Now, I actually have to simply get out of that again. So I’m getting there [while] Arie is completely there. … But yeah, we’re going to do it again.”
When Arie and Lauren shared that they were expecting their fourth baby, the pair also confirmed in a YouTube video uploaded the identical day that the previous Bachelor’s vasectomy reversal took place in summer 2024. The couple, nonetheless, selected to not publicly share the news until earlier this 12 months.
“Lots has happened since then,” Arie said, while Lauren explained that they tried to conceive but she experienced a chemical pregnancy. Despite the ups and downs, Lauren shared that they were “super excited” for “our last baby.”
