After taking India home together with his superlative knock within the third and final ODI of the series against South Africa, batting legend Virat Kohli was all ears to a question raised by the opposition’s young sensation Dewald Brevis on Saturday, December 6.

The masterful right-hander, who backed his pair of great centuries with a superb 65 not out in Visakhapatnam, was seen offering Brevis some invaluable batting suggestions following the hosts’ 2-1 series victory.

In a video that caught the fans’ attention, Kohli was seen giving some technical tricks to Brevis. The shot in discussion between the 2 was the pull shot.

As Brevis miscued his attempted pulls and hooks on multiple occasions during his run-a-ball 29 in the primary half, he went straight to Kohli for a tutorial after the match was over.

Pleased to assist the teen, Kohli appeared to be telling him not to hold his weight backwards excessively while playing the horizontal bat shot. Still in his gears and holding the bat after his unbeaten innings, the legend took a slight forward press after which shadow-batted a stroke towards the mid-wicket region.

The thought would’ve been to inform ‘Baby AB’ to attempt to force his weight forward and hold a powerful shape when he attempts the pulls and the hooks, as Kohli himself does.

Certainly one of the classic examples of the right-hander playing the pull shot with this system got here throughout the 2014-15 Border-Gavaskar Trophy when he hammered Mitchell Johnson on the MCG.

Kohli, an important believer in pressing forward and meeting the ball early, approaches the short-pitch deliveries head-on and tries to get on top of the bounce as an alternative of happening the back foot. While not traditional and foolproof, this method has given him great success against the bouncer ploy.

Having began the season on a worrisome note with two geese versus Australia, Kohli turned his fortunes around and made scores of 74*, 135, 102 and 65* within the last 4 innings.

His tons of against South Africa in Ranchi and Raipur were vintage Kohli knocks, reminding his fans of the pink of his dominant self back in 2016-19. The 37-year-old won the Player of the Series and put to rest doubts over whether he can manage age constraints and reach the ICC World Cup 2027 in South Africa.
