PCA president Amarjit Singh Mehta announced 95 percent tickets sold for India vs South Africa T20I at Mullanpur and recent stands for Yuvraj Singh and Harmanpreet Kaur.

Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) president Amarjit Singh Mehta announced that 95 per cent of tickets for the upcoming second T20I between India and South Africa on the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh have been sold, promising an almost-packed stadium.

Mehta also mentioned that the match will probably be attended by several BCCI dignitaries, because the venue hosts its first-ever men’s international game. BCCI President Mithun Manhas will grace the event.

Moreover, two recent stands will probably be inaugurated on Thursday, named after former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and Indian women’s team World Cup-winning captain Harmanpreet Kaur.

“That is the first-ever men’s international match going down here at PCA Mullanpur Stadium. It’s a really big match. Several dignitaries from the BCCI will probably be in attendance, including the President, Mithun Manhas. Many local delegates are also coming. The Governor and the CM will give their confirmation today, as we now have made a special request for them to grace the occasion. Hopefully, they can even come tomorrow. 95 per cent tickets have already been sold on the stadium,” Mehta told IANS.

“There are a variety of recent things here this time. We will probably be unveiling a brand new stand named after Yuvraj Singh, right under the screen. We’re also naming a stand after Harmanpreet Kaur, in recognition of her recent success. She has not only made Punjab proud however the country too. In case you have a look at the boxes, you’ll get a totally different feel this time. Now we have made many arrangements for that as well. Now we have made changes. Now we have added a variety of things. That is how we tried to make this match different,” he added.

India won the T20I opener on Tuesday and currently leads the five-game series 1-0.
