Lil Wayne Accused of Shouting ‘Do You Know Who I Am?’ in Court (Excl)

Lil Wayne allegedly shouted, “Do you recognize who I’m?” during a verbal fight between the rapper and a lawyer set to query him about an alleged assault, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

On Wednesday, December 3, lawyers for Wayne’s former personal assistant Andrew Williams filed court docs detailing their recent try and depose the rapper.

Per the filing, Wayne, 43, appeared for a deposition on June 18, but an argument between Wayne and one in all Williams’ lawyers, Omar Taylor, resulted in Wayne leaving before the deposition began.

Taylor alleged Wayne arrived “late and agitated together with his entourage.” The filing described Wayne’s demeanor as “hostile.”

Wayne allegedly directed profanity and racial slurs at Taylor, who accused the rapper of verbally abusing him.

“There was no misunderstanding, this was intentional aggression before any deposition query may very well be posed,” Taylor said. “[Wayne] escalated to intimidating physical posturing by standing up and leaning across the table toward [Williams’] counsel, and loudly shouting, ‘Do you recognize who I’m? WHO the f*** IS YOU’ and ‘I’M THE GUY! I’M THE GUY!’”

Taylor claimed Wayne then called his bodyguard Jax over. “Whether armed or not, this was a transparent act of intimidation and aggression,” the filing alleged. Williams’ filing said the lawyers tried to calm the situation down, but Wayne left the deposition stating, “Man, we out!”

Per an alleged transcript of the event, Wayne entered the room and asked Taylor, “The f*** you taking a look at n****” Taylor replied, “I’m taking a look at you! You’ve gotten an issue with people taking a look at you?”

Wayne allegedly responded, “Nah, I don’t gotta problem with it, it is best to see my shows, got 1000’s of individuals lookin at me …”

The 2 men went backwards and forwards for a bit. At one point, Taylor said, “Man, sit down and shut your mouth.”

The rapper responded, “Man What?! The f*** you’re thinking that you talking to!?….. “CLOSE MY MOUTH!?” Taylor told him to “sit down” which led to Wayne telling him, “CLOSE MY MOUTH!? So, so I assume you don’t want me to reply no questions huh?? Ain’t this a deposition??”

Because of this, Williams demanded Wayne be sanctioned $9,400 for his behavior.

On Thursday, December 4, Wayne responded to the claims. He denied he was the issue in the course of the recent deposition.

He said he would seem for one more deposition, but didn’t want Taylor physically present. Wayne said Taylor could appear remotely, but he didn’t need to be near him. Wayne’s lawyer asked for a protective order against Taylor from “engaging in acts of bullying, taunting, physical threats and other misconduct that Taylor committed just before the beginning of [Wayne’s] previously-scheduled deposition that forced [Wayne] to go away the deposition.”

The rapper’s lawyer said Taylor’s “egregious behavior included … staring down [Wayne], yelling at [Wayne] repeatedly to ‘shut your mouth,’ mocking [Wayne’s] speech and, incredibly, physically threatening [Wayne].”

Wayne’s lawyer said Taylor shouldn’t be present at any future depositions as a consequence of him being unable to “control himself.”

The response added, “Taylor has shown animosity to [Wayne] throughout this case, and for [Wayne’s] safety and decorum on this case, Taylor can’t be physically present on the deposition.” Wayne’s lawyer described the alleged incident within the filing.

“As [Wayne] entered the room, Taylor was fixated on [Wayne] and glared at him in a crazed manner — a lot so, as to encourage concern in [Wayne’s] counsel. Taylor then erupted at [Wayne], who reasonably questioned why Taylor was observing him so hard,” Wayne’s lawyer alleged. “Taylor retorted that he (Taylor) could do what he wanted, which set off a profanity-laced exchange between the 2.”

“No witness should ever be subjected to those unrelenting, hostile, and unprofessional verbal and physical threats made by Taylor,” the response added.

A judge has yet to rule on Wayne’s request for a protective order barring Taylor from appearing at his next deposition.

Williams sued Wayne in 2022 for alleged assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, wrongful termination and negligence.

In his lawsuit, Williams said on June 20, 2022, he was on a personal plane with Wayne. He said the rapper and the pilot had an argument, and he tried to intervene to stop it from escalating.

Williams alleged that Wayne was not pleased with him stepping in and punched him within the face with a closed fist. The previous personal assistant claimed the hit caused great harm as a consequence of the entertainer wearing “quite a few rings and huge jewelry on his hands.” Williams claimed he went to the urgent care to be checked out by doctors.

His lawyer wrote, “[Williams] has and continues to be damaged emotionally and physically, incurred general damages and special damages, including incurring medical expenses.”
In response, Wayne denied the allegations of wrongdoing brought by Williams. He described his actions as being “self-defense.” He asked the court to dismiss the grievance.
