Pete Davidson & Elsie Hewitt Won’t Follow ‘Weird Hollywood’ Rule

The “Bupkis” actor has hinted on the type of moniker he wants for his child, favoring a classic, old-school style over the Hollywood pattern.

Hewitt first shared the pregnancy news in July with a playful Instagram post. The announcement got here just months after the couple confirmed their relationship, after quietly dating and eventually moving in together.

In a recent interview, the “Saturday Night Live” alum opened up about preparing for parenthood alongside the model. Davidson revealed that while they’re thrilled to fulfill their bundle of joy, they have been weighing name options.

“For some time, we were like, should we do this weird Hollywood thing where it’s like a color or something? After which I believe we’re more into the Staten Island normal,” the comedian told People Magazine.

He continued with an inventory, “Mikey, Johnny, Tommy, Mark, or Amy, Bridget, Maggie, kind of route, because that is missing, I miss that. Remember if you were growing up, you knew like seven Franks?”

Nonetheless, Davidson noted that they could add a twist. “We were considering the center name might be slightly fun,” Davidson added. 

While Davidson eagerly anticipates fatherhood, he has been candid in regards to the emotional weight surrounding the pregnancy.

Shortly after Hewitt announced the news months ago, the comedian admitted he felt bad in regards to the attention she would inevitably face.

As The Blast reported, the 32-year-old explained that constant media scrutiny of their relationship makes him worry in regards to the pressure it places on her. “I feel bad for my girl because I bring numerous sh-t. Anything I do or she does now could be gonna be a thing,” he confessed.

Davidson emphasized that Hewitt is a non-public one that deserves a peaceful, extraordinary pregnancy, but fame has made that unattainable.

“I feel so guilty and horrible that I couldn’t allow her to have the best pregnancy that nearly every woman gets to have and luxuriate in,” Davidson admitted.

In sharing his worries, Davidson has also expressed joy over the journey ahead. He revealed that becoming a father has all the time been his lifelong “dream” and is now embracing it fully, drawing inspiration from close friends.

He praised Machine Gun Kelly as “the most effective dad ever,” admiring how the musician balances his profession while being present for his daughters, Casie and Saga. Davidson shared that Kelly reassured him parenting would turn out to be his “favorite thing,” and it has brought him comfort.

Reflecting on his own life, Davidson admitted he now sees his profession as “only a job” and believes true happiness will come from having someone to dedicate himself to.

As Davidson and Hewitt prepare to welcome their baby, their relationship is alleged to have experienced tension, with one source describing the situation as serious.

Per The Blast, one insider disclosed that the couple has been “fighting loads” and even resorted to secretly “recording one another.”

Nonetheless, one other source has pushed back on the claim, saying the clash is from them working their way around being parents. 

“There are numerous pressures around first-time parents, and other people react in a different way at any given moment,” the source said. “These two have been through loads, and hopefully, folks can allow them to find their way and luxuriate in this special time in peace.”

Except for the connection strain, Davidson can also be said to be coping with financial challenges. In August, The Blast reported that sources claimed he’s less liquid than before and struggling to sell out his $1.2 million Staten Island condo.

The 2-bedroom, three-bathroom property purchased in 2020 was first listed in 2022 for $1.3 million but drew no offers. Even after price cuts, Davidson couldn’t sell it, forcing him to relist it at $1.07 million, prepared to take a loss.

Adding to this, the actor’s money is alleged to be tied up in real estate, including his part-ownership of a decommissioned Staten Island ferry.

Months after these claims, Davidson performed in Saudi Arabia, a move that sparked backlash given his father’s death within the 9/11 attacks. In line with The Blast, Davidson soon defended his decision, dismissing speculation that entertainers are swayed by “Middle Eastern Money.”

For Davidson, it’s about practicality as he reviews the logistics, considers the offer, and accepts the job if it is smart.
