A security personnel member of the England cricket team on Saturday, December 13, got involved in a verbal altercation with a cameraperson of the Australian news channel, Channel 7, with the pressure of an impending series defeat looming large on the visitors, having lost the primary two of the five Tests.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning because the touring team departed for Adelaide ahead of the third Ashes Test, which gets underway on Wednesday.
Footage aired by the broadcaster shows a security guard pushing the camera operator away as he attempted to maneuver closer to the cricketers, who had travelled by road from Noosa after a mid-series break.
The trip itself had drawn criticism after England slipped to a 2-0 deficit within the Ashes following their loss on the Gabba last week. Watch the video here:

Cricket Australia has instructed all media through the series to respect each teams while they travel between Tests, including at airports. Media briefing documents issued by CA state: “The Australian and England teams won’t be available for interview while in transit through the NRMA Ashes series. All airport, hotel and transit coverage is vision only and should be captured from a respectful distance.”
While the footage suggests that Seven adhered to the protocol, the state of the series has intensified media attention on England, who must win the subsequent Test to remain alive after suffering two losses inside six days of play.
England have asked their security personnel to adopt a light-touch approach, mindful of the numerous well-meaning selfie requests they receive while out in public.
