Team India teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi produced one more masterful knock on the ACC U-19 Asia Cup on Tuesday against Malaysia as he brought up a superb half-century.
Sooryavanshi reached his fifty in only 25 deliveries at a strike rate of 200 after India were put to bat first by Malaysia on the Sevens Stadium in Dubai.
Sooryavanshi opened the innings alongside skipper Ayush Mhatre, who added 14 runs off 7 deliveries before Nagineswaran Sathnakumaran set him back to the hut.
Vihan Malhotra got here in to exchange his fallen captain, but couldn’t get going as he could add just 7 runs in 14 deliveries before falling prey to Akram Malik.
Sooryavanshi, who smashed as many as five fours and three sixers to succeed in his half-century, fell within the very next delivery he faced after completing his landmark as Malik grabbed his second wicket of the day.
Vedanth Trivedi and Abhigyan Abhishek Kundu steadied the Indian innings there on out as they notched up a half-century each to maintain the scoreboard ticking.
