The wait is over. Percy Jackson & the Olympians has returned for season 2, bringing Percy, Annabeth, and Grover back to Disney+ and Hulu for the subsequent chapter of their journey. This season adapts The Sea of Monsters, following the trio as they face recent threats, encounter unexpected allies, and set out on a dangerous quest that pushes them far beyond the protection of Camp Half-Blood.
Disney officially renewed the series on February 7, 2024, with CEO Bob Iger announcing the choice through the company’s quarterly earnings call. “Wealthy in magic, wonder, adventure and heart, Percy Jackson and the Olympians captivated the imaginations of viewers of all ages in every single place,” Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, said on the time. “We’re thrilled to embark on an exciting recent quest and a Season Two with Rick Riordan, our incredible partners at twentieth Television, and the exceptional ensemble of forged and artistic talent that bring this story to life.”
Rick Riordan, the creator of the unique Percy Jackson novels and an executive producer on the series, added on the time, “I can’t wait to bring the subsequent season of Percy Jackson to Disney+! Raise anchors. Hoist the mainsail. All hands on deck, demigods. We’re heading for the Sea of Monsters!”

When Did Season 2 of Percy Jackson & the Olympians Come Out?
Season 2 premiered on December 10, 2025, with a two-episode launch on Disney+ and Hulu. The season includes eight episodes total, released weekly on Wednesdays through January 21, 2026. The rollout mirrors the regular, chapter-by-chapter pacing of Riordan’s books, allowing viewers to follow the story week by week.

Hollywood Life caught up with Daniel after the season 2 release in an exclusive interview about his character’s relationship with Percy within the series.
“With Tyson, there’s all these beautiful attributes to him, but the best way that those come across is thru how he goes into relationships with the people around him. And I believe with Percy, that’s essentially the most poignant, and essentially the most, type of, like, connected of all his relationships,” Daniel said. “I felt like … that was my opportunity to type of tell as much story as possible, but additionally to type of show as much of who he’s and all these nuances of a heart and loyalty and protectiveness all throughout the span of the show.”
