Companion is a typical love story where a girl, Iris (Sophie Thatcher), meets and falls for a man, Josh (Jack Quaid). But her dreams are dashed when Iris discovers that Josh is a horrible liar who programed her to like him. Also, Sophie isn’t an actual woman in any respect, she’s just a really life-like android who thinks she’s human.
Admittedly, Iris’ circumstances are unique to her. That’s her problem and in addition her solution. Because now that Iris knows the reality, she will cope with Josh any way that she sees fit, and that’s very bad news for him.
Companion will stream on Prime Video on October 24.
