Laura Sanko talks up Michael Morales

Laura Sanko wants the UFC to present Michael Morales the following crack at welterweight gold.

The 19-0 contender knocked out Sean Brady in a single round on the undercard of UFC 322.

Jack Della Maddalena, Shavkat Rakhmonov, and Ian Machado Garry are currently ranked ahead of Morales.

Sanko hopes the 26-year-old from Ecuador might be allowed to skip the queue for a fight with Islam Makhachev.

“What’s crazy about him is that because the challenge gets steeper, I believe he’s only looking higher, which generally shouldn’t be the case,” Sanko told MMA Junkie.

“Generally, because the challenge gets steeper, your fights go longer, and possibly you have got some decisions. He has continued to look absolutely sensational, and to do what he did against Sean Brady? I actually didn’t expect it to appear like that. I believe he’s going to have a really great, big yr.”

“I believe that Michael Morales is the guy, personally,” Sanko continued.

“A lot of making stars in MMA is about seizing momentum and having really immaculate timing and matchmaking with that timing. I believe that it could be a shame to either wait too long or create a chance where you’ll be able to’t seize on this momentum.”

“I like Kamaru. I believe that’s a much tougher fight than loads of people say. I’ll say that. I believe Kamaru could give Islam an actual challenge. If that fight gets made – I’ll be completely happy about it, I’ll watch it. But I believe Michael Morales (should get the title shot).”
