Indian legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal has dismissed rumours about his participation in a reality show, labelling them as “speculative and factually incorrect”.
Speculation has been rife regarding Chahal’s alleged involvement within the upcoming reality TV show ‘The 50’. Reports suggested that Chahal would seem on the show alongside his ex-wife, Dhanashree Verma, generating widespread buzz amongst fans. The couple, who married in 2020, separated after 4 years.
‘The 50’ is poised to be a major addition to India’s reality TV landscape, featuring a daring recent format set to debut on February 1.
Chahal addressed the rumours by posting a press release on his Instagram story, stating that the circulating reports about his participation are false. He clarified that he has no involvement with the show mentioned in recent reports and there have been no discussions or commitments on this regard.
Chahal’s statement read, “There is no such thing as a truth to the reports currently circulating about Yuzvendra Chahal’s participation in any reality show. These claims are speculative and incorrect. Yuzvendra shouldn’t be related to the show mentioned in recent reports, and there are not any discussions or commitments of this nature. We request media platforms and social media users to refrain from spreading unverified information.”
Chahal is about to return to motion within the Indian Premier League 2026. The Punjab Kings retained him after securing the spinner for Rs 18 crore on the IPL 2025 auction.
In 2024, he made history by becoming the primary player in IPL history to take 200 wickets and was named within the T20 World Cup squad, where India emerged victorious.
