NHL Rumors: Latest Jersey Devils – Dougie Hamilton and Dawson Mercer

The Dougie Hamilton situation and Dawson Mercer says the rumors are white noise

Arthur Staple: Commenting on the Latest Jersey Devils and Dougie Hamilton situation.

“– When Hamilton rejected a trade to SJ last offseason, as was reported, that was probably the start of the tip for him. What happened yesterday, with Keefe and GMTF mainly announcing that Dougie is out until he’s willing to go away, is ugly and something that ought to never get out in public, but here we’re. It’s already lingered too long and we’ll see what happens next. Shouldn’t be an excessive amount of longer now that it’s hit this stage.

— I’ll agree with either side here: TF must have made a stronger push to get Hamilton out in the summertime and Hamilton and his camp must have realized the tip was near once that trade was vetoed — and it seems possible there’s been one other veto since. Players fight for those no-move clauses and are well inside their rights to exercise them, but things don’t exist in a vacuum. The team has to vary, and everybody needs to comprehend it.

“It has truthfully been for a couple of years now, different trades, but that stuff is white noise,” he said. “It doesn’t matter. I don’t really pay much attention that stuff. That’s all stuff out of your control. I are available in here, attempt to recuperate daily, and help the team win. I find it irresistible here, so it’s coming in and going on the market daily with the fellows.”
