Potential Vancouver Canucks trade candidates

Patrick Johnston of The Province: Vancouver Canucks forward Jake DeBrusk said last week that he doesn’t wish to get traded, “Oh no. I’m here to remain. To repair this.”

He doesn’t wish to go, but when a team calls on the 29-year-old forward, and with the Canucks seeking to get young, doesn’t it make more sense for the Canucks to trade him?

Other trade candidates for the Canucks.

Kiefer Sherwood – Everyone knows a move is coming, and he’d wish to recover from with. If a first-round pick was offered, he’d be traded by now. A source said things are heating up.

Evander Kane – Rick Dhaliwal said the Canucks asked the Edmonton Oilers in the event that they’d be all for re-acquiring Kane. Oilers said ‘no thanks.’

NHL Rumors: Artemi Panarin and Joonas Korisalo

Tyler Myers – Doubtful he’s moved, but teams may have a look.

Teddy Blueger – He’s near returning to the lineup and is anticipated to play within the Olympics. Likely wouldn’t net much of a return.

David Kampf – Going to the Olympics. He may provide someone with some forward depth.

Elias Pettersson – Someone could also be all for his two-way play. The Carolina Hurricanes were previously interested and need to trade Jesperi Kotkaniemi. The Chicago Blackhawks or San Jose Sharks are two teams that could possibly be a superb fit.

Teams are calling the Canucks not nearly their pending free agents

Iain MacIntyre of Sportsnet: The Vancouver Canucks still plan on going through with their hybrid rebuild, going younger while keeping some key veterans. President Jim Rutherford said that GM Patrik Allvin is getting calls on their pending UFAs, in addition to some players with term.

“I’d suggest that we hearken to teams after they call — about anybody,” Rutherford said. “But that might be the identical whether we’re winning or losing. When someone talks a few hybrid rebuild, it means the team isn’t shopping every player. But prior to this, we already made the choice that we were going to go along with younger players.”

NHL Rumors: There may be Interest in Calgary Flames Defenseman Rasmus Andersson

For players over 25, nine of the Canucks 12 players have some kind of trade protection.
