Actor Yash led Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, has grow to be embroiled in a legal controversy shortly after the discharge of its first teaser. Social activist Dinesh Kallahalli has lodged a proper criticism with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), raising objections to what he describes as “obscene, sexually explicit, and morally offensive scenes” within the teaser.
Social Activist Files Grievance Over Obscene Scenes In Yash Led Toxic Teaser
Within the criticism addressed to CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi, Kallahalli contended that the teaser accommodates “scenes which can be grossly obscene, s*xually explicit, and vulgar in nature.” He further claimed that the trailer is being widely circulated across various social media platforms without adequate restrictions, thereby exposing the general public—especially minors and young viewers—to content that’s legally impermissible and socially harmful.
The activist argued that the teaser violates constitutional rights related to freedom of speech and expression. They stated, “The content displayed within the trailer of ‘TOXIC’ clearly exceeds these constitutional limits and due to this fact doesn’t merit any constitutional protection. The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has consistently held that obscenity and sexually explicit material will not be protected types of expression.”
He also cited provisions under the Cinematograph Act, 1952, the Certification of Movies Rules, and CBFC guidelines, emphasising that movies, trailers, and promotional materials must adhere to standards of decency, morality, and social responsibility.
In light of those concerns, Kallahalli urged the CBFC to review the trailer, remove the offending scenes, and restrict its circulation. He also called for legal and regulatory motion against the film’s director, producers, and involved parties. “The current representation requires urgent attention, as the difficulty concerns public morality, the protection of minors, and the rule of law,” he added. The filmmakers have yet to answer the criticism.
