The face of boxing now has a date within the diary to work towards following an official announcement.
In September, Canelo Alvarez was beaten by Terence Crawford in an excellent fight that saw him lose his undisputed status at super middleweight.
Many believed that the fight was a more dominant win for ‘Bud’ than the scorecards suggested at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Since then, Alvarez’s hopes of a rematch with Crawford were shut down after his opponent announced his retirement from boxing along with his undefeated record intact.
We now know when the Mexican superstar will try and bounce back from the third lack of his 68-fight skilled profession.

Canelo Alvarez to headline ‘Mexico against The World’ card on September 12
Canelo Alvarez dropped out of the Ring Magazine’s top 10 pound-for-pound rankings for the primary time since 2018 because of this of his recent loss.
Plans were originally in place for the Mexican legend to make a fast turnaround and fight early in 2026, though it quickly became clear that this wouldn’t be an option.
Alvarez recently ruled himself out of a vacant title fight for the IBF super middleweight belt after undergoing surgery on an elbow injury.
On January 15, Turki Alalshikh announced via the Ring Magazine that while Alvarez will probably be fighting this yr, it won’t be until a special “Mexico against The World” card on September 12.
Alalshikh stated that his opponent will probably be a “surprise” for now, though he did state multiple times that it’s going to be an enormous fight.
“It’ll be named ‘Mexico against The World’”, Alalshikh revealed. “All of the fighters from the team of Canelo against the world and the champion within the predominant event, in a world title [fight] and it’s going to be a surprise, in Saudi Arabia. Inshallah.”

Canelo Alvarez is branching out for his return to the ring in September
One other detail from Turki Alalshikh’s announcement highlighted something that can make Canelo Alvarez’s next fight a primary for his profession.
At 35 years old, the previous undisputed super middleweight champion goes to be adding to his portfolio and footprint on the game.
Alalshikh stated that this will probably be the inaugural event to happen under the Mexican star’s recent Canelo Promotions banner.
You couldn’t really ask for a greater begin to the promotion’s run than having considered one of the highest names in combat sports headline the primary show.
