UP Warriorz secured their first win of the season with a 7-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians on the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday, highlighted by Harleen Deol’s half-century. MI, after being asked to bat first by UP, managed to attain 161 runs for the lack of 5 wickets, largely as a consequence of Nat Sciver-Brunt’s 65 runs from 43 balls and Nicola Carey’s unbeaten 32-run contribution. Sciver-Brunt also made an impact with the ball, dismissing UPW openers Meg Lanning and Kiran Navgire. Nonetheless, Deol and Phoebe Litchfield steadied the chase. Litchfield was eventually dismissed by Amelia Kerr for 25, but Chloe Tryon supported the impressive Deol with a brisk 27 runs off 11 balls, ensuring the Warriorz crossed the finish line.
