PJ Washington Accuses Brittany Renner’s Lawyer of Using Intimidation Tactics In Custody Case
In response to court docs filed by PJ Washington’s legal team in North Carolina, and obtained by US Weekly, the Dallas Mavericks forward asked a judge to dam Brittany’s push to maneuver the case to California. For context, Brittany reportedly filed a brand new case in Los Angeles in September 2025, but PJ quickly moved to shut it down. Nevertheless, a judge hasn’t ruled yet. PJ argues that California doesn’t have personal jurisdiction over him and says he has zero ties to the state. He reportedly wants a North Carolina judge to disclaim Brittany’s motion altogether.
On top of that, PJ claims Brittany’s California attorney tried to pressure him into agreeing to maneuver the support case West. He alleges the lawyer made threats and even suggested serving him court papers in front of thousands and thousands during one among his NBA games if he didn’t give in.
Alleged Email Reveals Brittany’s Lawyer’s Plans To Serve PJ
Per US Weekly, an alleged email Brittany Renner’s lawyer sent to PJ’s attorney on November 14, 2025, shows he planned to serve PJ on live television. Within the message, the lawyer identified that the Mavericks were scheduled to play against the Los Angeles Lakers on November 28, 2025. He wrote that he planned to purchase eight seats in a single section and serve PJ right at the sport.
“There are currently 8 tickets in Section 102, immediately behind the visitor bench where Mr. Washington might be seated. I plan on purchasing all eight tickets (that are going for the typical price of $2,317 per ticket) to make sure that there aren’t any problems with my process server having the ability to effectuate service.”
Moreover, Renner’s lawyer added that he hoped things wouldn’t escalate to that level. But even with that, Brittany’s legal team still argued against PJ’s claims about California. They said he has played multiple games within the state, in order that proves he has ties there.
More About PJ & Brittany’s Court Case & How Much He’s Reportedly Paying Her In Child Support
Back in September 2025, Brittany Renner filed a notice in Los Angeles County. This, to make certain she could collect her child support checks within the state. Her custody case with PJ Washington originally began in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Per TMZ in November 2024, a court set PJ as much as pay Brittany $5,500 a month, and on top of that, he was reportedly ordered to drop a one-time amount of $130,000. That money was meant to cover “any and all existing child support accruing prior to the entry of this consent.” Nevertheless, PJ was reportedly caught up on payments and didn’t have arrears.
Last 12 months, Renner apparently desired to move their case to California’s jurisdiction. Ultimately, a judge has yet to rule on the request.
