CD PROJEKT RED CEO Michał Nowakowski joined in on a thread celebrating best-selling games from Polish developers, confirming the franchise’s success. The list already showed The Witcher 3, which was released in 2015, as having reached $60 million in sales, but then the CEO added figures for the primary two games. The unique game has pulled in $10 million, with the second sitting at $15 million, however the exec humorously added that every one are still selling.
I might add to the list below (lists bestselling Polish games):
15 mln Witcher 2
10 mln Witcher 1Each are still selling too 🙂 https://t.co/hxKz1LqDVF

These sales figures come as rumors persist that CDPR is planning to release more content for The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. The last major DLC released for it launched in 2016, adding over 30-hours of content to the sport, but a smaller amount of content was added following the launch of the Netflix series which included a brand new quest. Ongoing rumors, as reported by VGC and Eurogamer, point to a May 2026 paid DLC release. Fans of the third game will likely not hesitate in paying for more content, on condition that many still find the 60-100 hour playtime of it no longer being enough.
Meanwhile, well-known modder Halk Hogan is preparing their next texture overhaul pack, HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition 2026. If the modder, who also helped contribute to the Next Gen version of The Witcher 3, can release this near the purported next DLC launch, it may very well be the cherry on top for fans of the sport.
The Witcher IV stays in development with a possible release inside the following two years. CDPR has taken a brand new turn for this game by utilizing Unreal Engine as a substitute of its own aging Red Engine, which was used for the primary three games and Cyberpunk 2077. A remake of the primary game can also be in development, and has been contracted to Idiot’s Theory, whose team includes a variety of CDPR devs and is being supervised by CDPR. It’s also using UE5, nevertheless it’s been a while since there was an update on it, so hopefully things are still progressing with it.
