Ex-UFC star uses Brock Lesnar comparison to back controversial tackle Gable Steveson

Although he isn’t currently within the premier MMA promotion, Gable Steveson has been backed to topple the present UFC heavyweight champion.

After an incredibly successful profession in wrestling, the Olympic gold medalist turned his attention to MMA, as do plenty of wrestlers lately.

Since making his debut within the cage last September, the 25-year-old has quickly captured the eye of the fanbase due to his skillset.

His most up-to-date win took him just 24 seconds before he rendered his opponent unconscious, once more showing his terrifying power.

And despite only being two fights into his skilled MMA profession, Gable Steveson has been backed to beat the UFC heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall, right away.

Ex-UFC star uses Brock Lesnar argument to back Gable Steveson

This past Saturday, ex-UFC star Matt Brown made a particularly controversial statement regarding Steveson‘s current place in the game.

‘The Immortal’ claimed that the 25-year-old, despite being extremely young in his skilled profession, could go in and beat Aspinall for the UFC title, right away.

There isn’t any denying Steveson’s raw ability and dominance, nonetheless, Aspinall is currently 19 fights into his skilled profession, and has scored wins over some extremely elite heavyweight competition.

And regardless that fans jumped on Brown for his prediction, the 45-year-old has attempted to defend his point through the use of a comparison to Brock Lesnar.

“You guys will call me silly or crazy or other web dweeb insults but remember Lesnar did it against a tougher division in only 4 fights and Gable is best than Lesnar in my view. Heavyweights are different!” Brown said in a post on X.

When Lesnar signed for the promotion in 2008, he lost his debut against Frank Mir, submitting to a kneebar. Just two fights later, the phenom won the UFC heavyweight title after knocking out Randy Couture.

Dana White is keeping his eye on Gable Steveson

At this point, it almost looks like an inevitability that the 25-year-old will sign for the promotion, especially with there being a lot endorsement around him.

And after Joe Rogan revealed that he attempted to get Dana White to sign him, the UFC boss recently revealed that he’s keeping his eye on the Olympic gold medalist.

“We’ve been watching him before Rogan was talking about,” White said recently.
