SPOILER ALERT: This post incorporates spoilers from the Season 2 finale of “Landman,” “Tragedy and Flies,” now streaming on Paramount+.
After an annoying penultimate episode that finished with two shocks, “Landman” ends Season 2 with its best episode. Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) has to cope with being fired by Cami (Demi Moore), Cooper (Jacob Lofland) has to beat a murder charge and Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) has to learn a lesson — all of which wrap up in a satisfying way. Join us for one last trip to Texas this season with the recap below.
- I’m not attempting to be indelicate, but Tommy and his family need to move out of this company house now that he’s fired, right?
- “For attempting to run the corporate like a business, as a substitute of a memento or a dream or regardless of the hell motivates her” — Tommy is basically breaking it down, very similar to the fans who’ve been yelling at their TV.
- Dale (James Jordan) is an actual one for his loyalty. Respect!
- Tommy, just let T.L. (Sam Elliott) enjoy his (very!) young companion (Francesca Xuereb).
- “She ain’t gonna fire you. She could do this over the phone.” Ouch, Tommy!
- Rattling, Gallino (Andy Garcia) has a pleasant house. I assume that happens while you’re a drug kingpin!
- Can’t they clean up Ariana (Paulina Chávez) and her wounds higher?
- Aww, cute baby!
- Oh, Paigyn (Bobbi Salvör Menuez) is back!
- Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) never needed to work out in highschool?
- Oh, huh … Paigyn is definitely smart and nice …
- “He was now not a threat.” Um, Johnny (Mike Harkins) seemed very threatening! Cooper neutralized the situation and detained the rapist. End of dialogue.
- Johnny died? Hooray!
- Calling Rebecca (Kayla Wallace) is wise! She must know some sharks.
- Oh, rattling, Rebecca is already on it.
- Hell yeah, Ariana — let these cops have the business!
- “Who the fuck did he murder?” Tommy, understandably confused.
- OK, I do just like the friendship between Angela (Ali Larter) and Bella (Stefania Spampinato).
- Eek, Angela goes to murder Tommy.
- Oh, OK — crisis quickly averted.
- Wow, how did Tommy completely avoid that automobile crash?!? Very “Final Destination”!
- “Everyone with a law degree within the room raise their hand. Oh, it’s just me?” Give Rebecca a derivative!
- Jesus, Rebecca is amazing. I’m terrified! And … in love?
- OK, Ainsley, good on you for standing up for what is true.
- Aww, Ainsley is becoming friends with Paigyn. I like this sweet turnaround!
- Wow! I’ve often made fun of Nate (Colm Feore) for being the fun police, but I didn’t realize his swag as he flew to Cami’s office simply to quit. What a very good chess move.
- Tommy’s letting his pride get to him — is he going to have a heart attack, too?
- Gallino vs. Tommy: It’s a giant business showdown!
- Tommy, along with his tail between his legs, is an odd look. But he got the cash, so great — despite the fact that it’s from his frenemy.
- “It’s like I’m looking within the mirror.” Oof, Gallino hit Tommy hard.
- Rattling, a lot has happened in someday. The sun remains to be out!
- Johnny actually died of a heart attack?!? What the hell?
- Billy Bob is eating up this scene … nom nom nom …
- Uh oh, this aspirin looks as if foreshadowing …
- Glad we’re not leaving this murder charge as a cliffhanger until next season.
- Why does Tommy have so many strippers in his phone?
- Aww, cute. I really like this latest oil company.
- Long live CTT Oil Exportation (and Cattle)!
- Oof, dour end to the season, Tommy.
- OK, good last negotiation with God.
Until next season, “Landman” nation! Within the meantime, share within the comments below in case you think CTT can be a win or a disaster.
