This is not Sutherland’s first brush with the law, as he has been arrested several times up to now, especially for crimes related to drunk driving. He has racked up about 4 DUI convictions between 1980 and 2008, the latter leading to a 48-day jail sentence.

For that incident, he was initially handed a 30-day sentence after entering a no-contest plea in October 2007 to driving while under the influence. Nonetheless, the court added an additional 18 days after Sutherland violated probation he had been on for a 2004 offense of the identical kind.

Following his eventual release on the time, a LAPD official told People Magazine that he “looked like he was glad to be out” of jail and was quite a model inmate behind bars.

Sutherland’s profession has seemingly taken a downward spiral after playing several underwhelming roles over the past decade.

His latest role as Bradley Mack in “Tinsel Town” didn’t manage to achieve the success he achieved by playing ace sniper Jack Bauer in “24,” or U.S. President Tom Kirkman in “Designated Survivor,” and sources say it’s because he “struggles with landing roles” that mean something to him.

“Kiefer has been searching for that one role since ’24’ that challenges him and takes him on an acting journey, as he has at all times desired to have the same profession to his father, Donald,” an insider told the Every day Mail.

They continued, “He thought he had it with Designated Survivor, but that then ended too, and he thought he was going to have it with roles he inevitably ended up not getting. He doesn’t deal well with loss. He’s been working in Hollywood for a long time, but he still struggles with landing roles that mean something to him.”

The Golden Globe winner, who’s the son of the late Hollywood legend Donald Sutherland and the late actress Shirley Douglas, can also be aware of his inability to land big roles that mean something to him.

“After 24, I assumed I might just naturally have a bunch of opportunities staring me within the face,” he said, per reports. “But the reality is, for those who don’t create those opportunities, they’re just not there. As someone who likes to work, there have been times when I have never worked for some time – because I didn’t do quite a lot of the planning that is required.”

He added, “I’m sliding into 60 years old at 100 miles an hour, and I’m conscious about the proven fact that people cared more about what I assumed after I was 30 than they do now.”
