Dana White has reportedly entered talks to sign arguably the best pound-for-pound boxer on this planet.
The UFC boss will debut the brand new Zuffa Boxing this Friday night from the Apex in Las Vegas with a show that has disillusioned fans in its lack of scale. But he has already made some big moves for the promotion’s future, most notably signing up cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia.

And White could now be set to make the most important splash possible by signing unified heavyweight champion Usyk to a brand new deal. Despite the incontrovertible fact that he was recently stripped of his WBO belt, the Ukrainian is for all intents and purposes the undisputed title holder for the game’s big division.

Dana White and Oleksandr Usyk in talks for Zuffa Boxing move
Oleksandr Usyk’s Sports Director Sergey Lapin has been speaking with TalkSport in recent days. And he confirmed that there have been discussions between his man and Dana White about the opportunity of doing a take care of Zuffa Boxing.
Usyk had been with promoter Alex Krassyuk until just before his showdown with Daniel Dubois last August. Since then he has not fought, and his promotional future appears to be up within the air with White now in the sport.

“There may be contact, there’s dialogue, and interest exists [from Dana White and Zuffa Boxing],” Lapin said. “Details aren’t for the general public straight away. Let’s say a couple of doors are open and if format, numbers, and timing align, the market could see a move no person expects.
“Everyone has seen what he [White] did. He turned old MMA’ into the worldwide UFC machine. His real power is packaging not only a fight, but an event. If he gets involved, the size and a focus immediately turn into different.”
Usyk’s future when it comes to fighting is currently up within the air. He appears to be pushing for a gathering with Deontay Wilder that may see him complete the trifecta of contemporary heavyweight greats after double victories over Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua since moving up from cruiserweight.
