NHL Rumors: Florida Panthers Trying to Add Depth

Host: Are the Florida Panthers, certainly one of those teams you possibly can see making a significant move prior to the deadline, because they’re hovering on the wild card spot?”

Anthony Di Marco: “I might imagine so. Like, Bill Zito has already pushed all his chips into the center, right? So what can be another big push in that direction? And he’s done it each 12 months since he’s been in charge, almost. Like, even the 12 months after they got eliminated in what was it, the second round, he made those two big moves for Ben Chiarot and Claude Giroux. The way in which I have a look at it, it could just be very much up Bill Zito’s alley to make one other move like that.”

NHLRumors.com Note: The Florida Panthers aren’t afraid to make moves. They proceed to be linked to players like Jamie Oleksiak, Mario Ferraro, and Connor Murphy. Florida is concentrated on defence in the case of adding. It’ll be interesting to see how they make the cash work.

Is Nazem Kadri on the Move Next from Calgary?

NHL Rumors: Will the Calgary Flames Move Blake Coleman Next?

Host: “Anthony, is that this only a matter of time until Nazem Kadri gets moved at this point?”

Anthony Di Marco: “I would really like to think so. But I mean, the contract continues to be the contract, with one other three or 4 years left at $7 million. Now look, centers are at a premium within the NHL, and we saw that within the recent weeks with the contract to Christian Dvorak and Alex Wennberg, which on the surface appear to be overpays, but again, the centers are only so few and much between.

But I, he has the no-trade protection. I can’t remember. I realize it is a modified one, I consider, but as much as I would like to say it’s a matter of time, I just sometimes have a look at that contract. I’m identical to, I’m unsure what number of teams will have the option and willing to soak up that for the remainder of the years left on the contract.”

NHLRumors.com Note: The Calgary Flames will proceed to get calls on not only Nazem Kadri, but also Blake Coleman. Nonetheless, the Flames know they need some veterans within the lineup. Straight away, Kadri desires to remain with the Flames. It’ll take a proposal that GM Craig Conroy can’t refuse to maneuver him, but teams are calling.
