Bangladesh T20 World Cup participation Highlights: Bangladesh on Thursday refused to travel to India for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 after the ICC rejected the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) demand for a change of venue, effectively paving the way in which for Scotland to take their place. Bangladesh got an ultimatum by the world body on Wednesday to either conform to travel to India or risk being replaced as there was no credible threat to the security of their players, officials or fans there.
The country was given time till Thursday to make its decision. Nevertheless, taking a hard-line position, Bangladesh’s sports advisor, Asif Nazrul, after a gathering with national team players, announced that the ICC’s assessment was not acceptable to them.
