An Iranian official has warned any attack from the US will result in ‘all-out war’ as Donald Trump sends an ‘armada’ to the country.

The US President said he would send help to Iranian protesters almost two weeks ago as hundreds have been killed by the regime during demonstrations.

He said on Thursday the US were sending an ‘armada’ to Iran, warning the federal government against killing more protesters and restarting its nuclear programme.

The Iranian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters: ‘This time we are going to ‌treat any attack – ‍limited, unlimited, surgical, kinetic, whatever they call it – as an all-out war against us, and we are going to respond in the toughest way possible to settle this.

‘If the Americans violate Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, we are going to respond.
