Derrick Lewis and Waldo Cortes Acosta needed to be dragged apart by a crew including Dana White after their final face-off got physical.

The heavyweight duo will throw down on Saturday night at UFC 324 in one of the hyped fights of the important card. And apparently things have develop into personal between the duo over an alleged comment from Lewis towards his rival.

Through the broadcast of Friday night’s UFC 324 weigh-ins from the T-Mobile Arena, Michael Bisping made reference to a supposed comment from Derrick Lewis that angered Waldo Cortes Acosta. It is claimed that the jibe, about Acosta’s mother, resulted within the pair’s feud becoming greater than just fighting.

While Lewis is an often-times jovial character, he’s well capable of get into it with rivals when needs be, and Friday night was no exception. “He believes he’s going to knock out Derrick Lewis, knock out the knockout king after which in fact get a heavyweight title shot,” Bisping explained.

“Take a look at this, two gigantic men and Waldo says it’s personal. Apparently Derrick said something about his mother, I don’t know, but he’s fired up.” Dana White then needed to step in, together with security, to separate the pair whose collective weight on the scales Friday morning was 525.5lb.
