Islam Makhachev slams UFC 324 foremost event as Khabib Nurmagomedov offers different response

Justin Gaethje continued to depart the UFC fanbase astonished following one other classic performance at UFC 324.

And although ‘The Baddy’ was unable to secure himself a shot at Ilia Topuria‘s undisputed title, he earned a whole lot of respect from his peers and the fans after becoming the primary fighter to take ‘The Highlight’ all five rounds.

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev react to UFC 324 foremost event

Prior to the event, Pimblett told Bloody Elbow in an exclusive interview that he believes he could go on to surpass the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev as the best lightweight of all time.

And although Makhachev is not any longer a part of the star-studded lightweight division, he still had his eyes on the foremost event between his former division rivals.

In reality, the Russian once revealed that he would fight Pimblett in the longer term, before leaving the division to say the welterweight title.

“What was brought on a platter turned out to be inedible,” Makhachev reacted to the foremost event in a post on X.

Makhachev previously claimed that Pimblett was fortunate to be given a title shot, hinting that he was gifted it by the promotion due to his popularity. And despite five rounds of exciting motion, the welterweight champion was unimpressed.

Khabib, then again, took his probability to congratulate his former foe, Gaethje, who he was impressed by once more.

“Justin Gaethje, absolute legend, my congratulations. What a fight! And don’t forget, Justin is sort of 38 years old,” Khabib reacted in a post on X.

Each Makhachev and Khabib were in attendance at UFC 324 as they were cornering Umar Nurmagomedov who picked up a win over Deiveson Figueiredo on the undercard.

Justin Gaethje could retire following title unification fight

After picking up the interim title within the UFC 324 foremost event, ‘The Highlight’ has now earned his right to tackle ‘El Matador’ for the undisputed title.

Topuria previously stated that he’s hopeful of returning to the cage between April and June, hoping to proceed his reign.

And after revealing before his UFC 324 fight that he’ll likely retire from the game in 2027, Gaethje could fight his final fight against Topuria when unifying the title.
