While Tell Me Lies fans have quickly began to root for Bree and Wrigley, a few of the forged needed time to regulate to the shocking romance reveal.
In the course of the Tuesday, January 20, episode of the hit Hulu series, a flash forward scene from Bree (Cat Missal) and Evan’s (Branden Cook) wedding confirmed that the bride had unexplained history with Wrigley (Spencer House).
“It was an adjustment — obviously — just when it comes to where does that leave all the pieces and the way will we work through this triangle now,” Cook exclusively told Us Weekly. “How does that affect everybody’s relationship?”
Cook called it “fun” attending to connect the dots. At the identical time, he joked that the reveal meant less people rooting for Bree and Evan.
“No one is rooting for Evan ever. Nevertheless it was cool and it’s funny,” he quipped. “Any time you add a component like that, it makes the job lots more fun. The more drama, the higher.”
House, for his part, “loved” learning more about Wrigley’s backstory. “This was probably the most fun I’ve had in any season. It’s because Wrigley got to have an arc that had an upwards trajectory,” he shared with Us. “The primary two were spirals, which was good in its own way.”
He continued: “But for me — as someone who’s shown as much as work every single day embodying that — it was nice to do an upwards trajectory. That was meaningful and nice.”
Missal, meanwhile, praised Tell Me Lies for considering outside of the box.
“Truthfully, I feel [Bree and Wrigley’s] relationship offers the dynamic of the show a little bit of relief. I feel people were craving for that and I feel the writers were so smart in doing that,” she told Us. “It’s a very beautiful thing.”
Missal teased how the fictional relationship will play out, adding, “For Bree, she’s just trying to find security and trying to find a truth that she’s not getting with most of those relationships in her life. And Wrigley opens that door a bit of bit for her.”
Season 3 of Tell Me Lies, which premiered earlier this month, has already been breaking streaming records. Hulu has yet to announce whether there are plans to proceed the show, which creator Meaghan Oppenheimer weighed in on.
“When it comes to future seasons, it’s not possible to essentially know at this point,” Oppenheimer exclusively told Us. “I definitely had all the time thought this was all the time roughly the ending I’d had in mind.”
Oppenheimer didn’t rule out a return. “But you never know what’s going to occur in the long run,” she continued. “But there’s definitely a way where I didn’t want to go away anything hanging this season. Principally, I desired to satisfy everyone.”
Latest episodes of Tell Me Lies air Tuesdays on Hulu.
