Arman Tsarukyan perfectly predicted how Paddy Pimblett’s defeat would go down at UFC 324

Arman Tsarukyan keeps a keen eye on the highest of the lightweight division, and he knew exactly how the UFC 324 essential event would go.

Despite being the highest contender at 155lb, plainly Tsarukyan is in the back of the road for a shot on the belt after pulling out of his UFC 311 essential event with Islam Makhachev on weigh-in day last 12 months. As a substitute, Paddy Pimblett jumped the queue and ended up in an interim title fight on Saturday night.

Unfortunately for the Brit, he was discovered by the legendary Justin Gaethje in a five round war that proved his toughness but wasn’t enough to develop into champion. And in a resurfaced podcast appearance from just before the fight, Tsarukyan called it perfectly.

There is no such thing as a love lost between Paddy Pimblett and Arman Tsarukyan, with the Brit relentlessly mocking his rival for losing his spot within the title picture. In consequence, it was no surprise that the Armenian picked him to lose when asked concerning the UFC 324 essential event.

Nonetheless, it was remarkable just how perfectly he predicted what would occur when asked by Daniel Cormier, telling the previous two-weight world champion: “I imagine Justin Gaethje [will win], Paddy is just tough, not technical.

“He’s wild, but Gaethje if he’s in fine condition he’s going to be calm the primary two rounds and he knows he has lots of experience. See he beats [Rafael] Fiziev two times, how? First round he let him do lots of things and kick him but second round he began.”

And he even knew the result, which was the primary time ever that the American went the gap in a five round fight. “The identical goes to be here,” Tsarukyan continued. “And I believe Justin Gaethje goes to beat him by decision.”
