Steven Gerrard has warned Arsenal that Manchester City are usually not going anywhere within the Premier League title race, especially after they beat Liverpool to a deal for Marc Guehi.

It stays to be seen whether Man City can leapfrog the present title favourites but Gerrard has issued an ominous waning to Arsenal.
The Liverpool legend and ex-England midfielder insists City are ‘not too far-off’ from their easiest and believes they are going to only get stronger following a productive January transfer window.
Guardiola welcomed Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth earlier within the month before signing Crystal Palace captain Guehi for just £20m.

Guehi was on the verge of joining Liverpool last summer before Palace pulled the plug on the deal and Gerrard says he’s ‘devastated’ that the England centre-back is not going to be arriving at Anfield.
Asked how far Manchester City are away from their best, Gerrard told TNT Sports: ‘Not too far, not too far.
‘Should you take a look at their January signings they’ve bolstered the squad. We were just speaking about Antoine Semenyo and the way good a signing that’s.

‘Marc Guehi might be really essential as well – I used to be devastated he never got here to Liverpool in all truthfully because we’ve had some defensive issues.
‘Those signings will really help them and boost them. With Man City’s experience and quality, you may never write them off.
‘I believe they’ll undergo within the Champions League and I don’t think they’ll go away within the Premier League title race, I believe they’ll be there until the top.’
Discussing his move to Man City last week, Guehi said: ‘At the beginning, it’s such an honour, such a giant club to come back and play for.
‘For me, I actually have all the time just been obsessive about recovering and wanting to enhance and that’s something I’m consistently striving for and that is the proper place for me to try this.
‘I actually have heard a lot in regards to the club and the fans, the players speak for themselves, the manager. It’s definitely the best environment for me to enhance and just get well.

‘Hopefully I can bring what I actually have to the table to assist each person here too.’
Man City director of football Hugo Viana added: ‘It is obvious Marc has been the most effective defenders in English football for quite a while now, so we’re absolutely delighted to bring him to City.
‘I feel we’ve signed an enormous talent who will help us improve. He is just 25, but he has shown already he’s a pacesetter, a superb skilled and someone desperate to enhance.
‘He is powerful, has exceptional defensive qualities, is an intelligent reader of the sport, and brings passion and energy each time he steps onto the pitch. I’m so pleased it was us he selected to hitch.
‘Marc is entering the prime years of his profession. I’m sure every City fan is happy to see how good he will be in a sky blue shirt.’
Arsenal return to Premier League motion on Saturday against Leeds United, while Manchester City visit struggling Tottenham.
