Ahead of his first outing of 2026, Volkanovski recently looked back on his profession and all that he has achieved contained in the cage.
Somewhat than winning gold on MMA’s biggest stage, the UFC featherweight champ picked his ability to stay true to himself through all his success as the best accomplishment of his profession.
“A variety of people ask, ‘What’s your best accomplishment?’ I at all times say I used to be in a position to be myself through the entire process, and I still am me,” Volkanovski said during an interview for Paramount.
“I’m just me. And it was a slower process. I didn’t have the hype, I didn’t have the push from everybody and whatnot.

Alexander Volkanovski knows UFC 325 doesn’t boost his legacy
The controversial rematch between Volkanovski and Lopes caused considerable uproar within the MMA community.
Most reacted with frustration, insisting that undefeated contenders Lerone Murphy and Movsar Evloev were more deserving than the Brazilian.
‘Alexander the Great’ himself seemingly agreed, and he recently acknowledged that the rematch with Lopes won’t boost his legacy in the way in which that taking an ‘0’ contained in the Octagon would have.
“Some people might need desired to see me against possibly a Movsar, an undefeated guy, possibly for legacy reasons and people who are within the know, but then you definately’ve got everyone that also just want to observe me fight,” Volkanovski told ESPN Australia.
“They’re like, ‘Oh that is going to be exciting’, last time was exciting. Now we get to have this in Sydney so I feel they’re all in for a treat.
“But yeah, obviously legacy-wise, having a rematch against someone I just beat, is it going to be doing a lot for my legacy? Probably not,” he added.
