Thomas Frank has provided an injury update on Micky van de Ven ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Manchester City.
Tottenham enjoyed a productive midweek within the Champions League, earning a 2-0 away win at Eintracht Frankfurt to secure a top-eight spot and advance straight to the last 16.
Perhaps the one downside on the night was the absence of Pedro Porro and the aforementioned Van de Ven, who weren’t named within the matchday squad.
Spurs have already confirmed that Porro is facing a month on the sidelines, having come off at half-time last weekend within the 2-2 draw with Burnley.
Meanwhile, Van de Ven’s absence from Tuesday’s training and Wednesday’s European encounter was brought on by a ‘minor’ issue.
The Dutch centre-back has been a pivotal player this season for Frank’s side, who host second-in-the-table City within the league on Sunday.
Asked whether Van de Ven could feature against Pep Guardiola’s side on the weekend, the Spurs boss said: ‘Micky is a minor one. It is going to be touch and go.

‘He was on the pitch yesterday and today but he’s touch and go.’
The most recent injury news compounds what has been a nightmare month for Spurs, with Richarlison, Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Bergvall, Ben Davies and Rodrigo Bentancur all also picking up injuries over the course of January.
Spurs have brought in Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher and young Brazilian Souza to try to bolster their squad, but Frank conceded that his squad is looking far worse in comparison with when the transfer window opened.
‘We lost six or seven players. That’s crazy and a few of them extremely unlucky like Lucas and Ben,’ he said. ‘In fact it’s weaker than once we began the first of January.
On the club’s transfer window, Frank added: ‘The fans just want the most effective for the club like I do, the owners and everybody within the club.
‘It’s fair to say though that the transfer window just isn’t like Football Manager. Perhaps it could be more boring if it was with less to discuss.’
