Fans offer mixed reviews as the complete UFC London card is announced… ‘That is trash’

UFC fans have been offering mixed reviews after the promotion announced the complete card for UFC London.

Every time the premier MMA promotion broadcasts their calendar ahead of a brand new 12 months, fans immediately highlight UFC London as a trademark event.

In years passed by, the UK has change into one in all the UFC‘s major markets, and that has resulted within the promotion ramping up their events in London, in addition to Manchester more recently.

And although British talent like Tom Aspinall, Paddy Pimblett and Leon Edwards have outgrown the o2 Arena, there remains to be loads of UK talent to showcase within the promotion’s return to the capital.

It seemed as if Paddy ‘The Baddy’ was the UK fans’ next hope of bringing a pay-per-view to the country, but following his recent loss to Justin Gaethje, fans may have to settle for an additional Fight Night.

The total UFC London card is announced

On March 21, the premier promotion returns to London for the sixteenth time for an additional Fight Night iteration that showcases a few of the brightest talent from the region.

And this Monday afternoon, together with the complete card, it was announced that undefeated featherweight contenders Lerone Murphy and Movsar Evloev will headline the event.

Originally, it was rightfully assumed that the fight would play as a primary contender fight with the winner fighting the featherweight king, Alexander Volkanovski.

Despite that, Murphy dropped quite an alarming admission hours after the fight was announced, claiming that he hasn’t been assured that their fight will guarantee the subsequent title challenger.

And with the stakes of the fight potentially not being as high as what they initially seemed, the cardboard seems to have already taken a slight knock.

The co-main event sees impressive featherweight contender Luke Riley tackle Michael Aswell in only his second outing under the UFC banner.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page also returns to welterweight as he shockingly takes on Sam Patterson in an all-British affair.

Fans offer mixed reactions to the UFC London card

Although there are several fan favorites on the cardboard, the announcement has received mixed reviews from the fans, with there only being three ranked fighters on your entire 14-fight card.

“That’s an incredibly bad card,” one fan commented.

“Great lineup with top fighters,” one other fan gave a differing opinion.

“Stacked? Who the hell is within the co-main and why isn’t it MVP? Also, MVP should only be fighting ranked opponents, does he really have people in two weight divisions afraid of him?” said one other fan.

“The disrespect to Nathaniel Wood on the prelims. Get that man on the major card!” one fan campaigned.

Nathaniel Wood is on a powerful three fight win streak since losing to Muhammad Naimov in 2023, and he’ll tackle Losene Keita, who’s one of the vital highly regarded prospects in the game.

“The UFC’s definition of stacked differs vastly from the remaining of us,” said one other fan.
