Last November, Steam unveiled three recent pieces of hardware that got loads of PC gaming fans excited. For VR gamers, there’s the brand new Steam Frame, while general PC gamers can enjoy a brand new Steam Controller. For a lot of, essentially the most exciting announcement was the Steam Machine, which builds on the success of the Steam Deck and offers players a console-like experience with Steam. Nonetheless, two things were glaringly missing from the initial announcement: pricing and release date.
Unfortunately, Valve still doesn’t have a solution to those questions, mainly because component pricing and availability have gone a bit crazy because the announcement. In case you haven’t heard, some hardware components like RAM are in high demand because corporations are investing heavily in AI. The demand has been so high that some corporations have even shut down their consumer brands to fulfill it. For this reason, Valve needed to revisit its exact shipping schedule and pricing, but still intends to ship all three products in the primary half of the 12 months.
Before we will get it in our hands though, Valve has to work on concrete pricing and launch dates it might probably confidently announce. For now, we’ll should accept a blog post that may provide updates, including more on specific features of the brand new hardware. Currently, the post includes FAQs on the Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller, and Valve reiterates that the Steam Machine will have the option to play the vast majority of Steam titles at 4K60fps with FSR enabled.
