FBI Addresses ‘Recent Message’ Regarding Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mom Nancy

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is sharing an update on the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

“The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are aware of a brand new message regarding Nancy Guthrie,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in an announcement via X on Friday, February 6. “Investigators are actively inspecting the knowledge provided within the message for its authenticity.”

Although authorities didn’t provide more information, local news outlet 13 News claimed they received a brand new message regarding Nancy’s disappearance and forwarded the message to law enforcement.

“While that is one recent piece of data, the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are still asking anyone with tricks to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI,” Nanos’ latest statement continued. “The FBI continues to supply a reward of as much as $50,000 for information resulting in the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”

In recent days, Nancy’s children, including Savannah, Annie and Camron Guthrie, have made videos seemingly addressing a possible ransom.

In an Instagram video posted on Wednesday, February 4, Savannah appeared alongside her siblings and addressed the reports about an alleged ransom letter within the media.

“As a family, we’re doing every thing that we will. We’re able to talk,” she said. “Nonetheless, we live in a world where voices and pictures are easily manipulated. FBI Special Agent Heith Janke previously confirmed in a press conference that the FBI is aware of an alleged ransom letter sent to news outlets, noting that “any motion taken on any ransom is ultimately decided by the family.” He also revealed that the FBI arrested an “imposter” attempting to “profit” off of the case with a separate, fake ransom note.

Janke noted that the alleged ransom note had an initial deadline of 5 p.m. on February 5, which is around the identical time Camron posted his video. If that deadline was missed, the note offered Monday, February 9, as a second option.
