Motion around Nazem Kadri picked up a bit after a cooling off period

Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman on 32 Thoughts: The Podcast – What’s going to change for the Preds? episode on the Calgary Flames and Nazem Kadri.

Friedman: “Nazem Kadri. I don’t, you realize, a part of the issue with all of the hits I do, Kyle, is I, that is bad, and it’s a giant criticism of myself, sometimes I can’t remember the things I say. And someone said to me, you went on air and also you said that, and it wasn’t on the pod, I feel it was on the Hockey Show with (Matt) Marchese and (Mike) Futa, and also you said that Kadri can block to Montreal. And I used to be like, ‘I did.’ They usually go, ‘Yeah, I feel you said that.’ I used to be like, Oh, that was dumb, because I don’t think, I feel he can go to Montreal without approval. And we’ll see what happens there.

Like, I feel certainly one of the things that form of happened with Kadri is that, you realize, Robert Thomas being available on the market, and perhaps another centers being available, that folks didn’t realize. It form of slowed things down. I feel that’s picked back up a bit.

NHL Rumors: Would Jonathan Toews Wish to go to a Contender on the Deadline?

I feel Utah is a team that can be asked about Kadri. You already know, what’s the chance here? I don’t know what the situation is with them, but I do know they’ve asked. You already know, I’ve heard Calgary is told, they’re told opponents that, or told other teams have called about him that, you realize, there’s a pair of how they’re willing to do that.

They’re willing to do just like the Brock Nelson form of deal, which is first round pick, prospect, or they’re willing to do more what’s called like a ‘hockey deal.’ Less of a futures deal, but more like a young player that the Flames would have control over. I’ve heard they’re open to it, but I feel that one began to choose up again.”
