UFC star wasn’t even signed two weeks before his brutal 27-second KO stole the show at a significant PPV

A feared UFC knockout artist made probably the most of a short-notice debut six years ago today.

The UFC 247 pay-per-view took place on February 8, 2020, on the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Two title fights topped the lineup, with Valentina Shevchenko knocking out Katlyn Chookagian within the co-main event before Jon Jones’ controversial win over Dominick Reyes closed the show.

There have been quite a lot of strong performances further down the cardboard, but none were more impressive than what a newcomer did to announce his arrival in style…

Khaos Williams debuted with a rapid KO on Jon Jones’ UFC 247 undercard

Khaos Williams immediately became one among the UFC’s most feared knockout artists with what he did on today six years ago.

On the UFC 247 preliminary card, ‘The Ox Fighter’ made his Octagon debut on incredibly short notice.

Williams was not even signed to the promotion just two weeks out from the PPV in Houston but made the walk to fight Alex Morono as a alternative for the injured Dhiego Lima.

It’s protected to say that he made probably the most of the chance.

Williams knocked Morono out in only 27 seconds, quickly rocking him on the feet before dropping him with a devastating uppercut.

A couple of ground strikes ensured that Morono was not returning to his feet, and the referee intervened to bring an end to arguably that 12 months’s best UFC debut.

Williams has since sent the likes of Abdul Razak Alhassan and Miguel Baeza to similar fates contained in the Octagon.

UFC 247 led to a controversial win for Jon Jones

Unfortunately for Williams and other winners on the cardboard, UFC 247 is remembered years later for less than one fight.

The essential event between Jones and Reyes was a closely contested affair that many imagine the undefeated challenger won.

The three judges saw things otherwise, much to the dismay of many big names and fans within the MMA community.

Reyes insisted he beat Jones, and each Joe Rogan and Dana White agreed with that assessment within the aftermath of the controversial UFC 247 headliner.
